"For Jesus is the One referred to in the scriptures, where it says, 'The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone'.
There is salvation in NO ONE ELSE! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved." Acts 4:11
I don't want anyone to miss this truth. If you are reading this and want to accept Jesus as your personal Savior, below is a prayer. Pray this prayer with all of your heart and in honesty and you will be saved and have heaven as your eternal home.
"Dear God, I know I'm a sinner. I know my sins deserve to be punished. I believe Christ died for me and rose from the grave. I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Savior. Thank You for the forgiveness and everlasting life I now have, In Jesus' name, amen"

Words from my Pastor
God of the Miraculous
"Prepare for impact!" was all the pilot told the passengers before making an emergency landing in the Hudson River. Each person on board that flight walked away with unique a story to tell. But I noticed a common thread. When asked what the final moments of the flight were like most passengers said that it was relatively quiet, but you could hear people praying throughout the cabin. In their time of greatest need the people of flight 1549 turned to God for a miracle. It's one thing to hear a great story; it's another to experience it. Only the people on that flight can truly appreciate the "Miracle on the Hudson." Why? Because they lived it.
When the hand of God moves in your life it becomes more than a story . . . it becomes a part of who you are. Think about the moment you came to know Christ. You may not remember the words that were spoken that day - but you'll never forget the feeling of finally surrendering everything to God. The freedom you felt knowing that, through faith, you were now free to begin again.
Perhaps you've experienced other miracles in life - financial breakthrough, physical healing, broken relationships restored, or an answer to a simple prayer that reminded you that God loves you. These moments inspire our faith and remind us that God is near.
Hebrews 13:5 reminds us that God has said: "Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you."
Be reminded this week that nothing is impossible for God. He is able to move mountains on your behalf. He will deliver you from the depths of discouragement and help you conquer any giant standing in the way of your breakthrough. He is your healer, your provider, and your source of strength. He desires to fill your heart with hope and give you victory according to every promise in His Word.
If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, you can pray a prayer to let Him be savior and Lord of your life. "Lord, I believe that You died on the cross for my sins. I repent and turn away from my sins and ask you into my life. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Human view
I want to see things from God's view, not merely from a human point of view. We humans think that we see everything and understand our world. But there is a spiritual world that is more real than this one that we can touch. God has big plans for our lives that take faith to see. We can't just figure out things by worldly thoughts. If we ask God to show us different ways of doing things and allow Him to take charge, we can accomplish greater things. God can teach us to dream bigger than the world teaches.
Jesus told Peter "You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God's."
Mark 8:33
This happened when Jesus was telling the people that He must suffer and be killed, then in 3 days rise from the dead. Peter didn't want Jesus saying these things. This is when Jesus told Peter that God has different plans that sometimes we don't understand. I want to walk so closely to Jesus that when things come up in my life that I don't understand, I can be comforted in the fact that God is in control.

Comfort
"The Lord will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul." Psalm 121:7
This is a strong promise from God. These days are full of evil everywhere we turn. Meditate on this verse for comfort and peace in your life. We must remember to turn from evil when we see or hear it. These days we can see and hear evil before we know it! A commercial can come on the TV and evil is shouted out.

Content
"I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of contentment in every situation, whether it be a full stomach or hunger, plenty or want; for I can do everything God asks me to with the help of Christ who gives me strength and power."
Philippians 4:12-13
I want to be able to say this about my life. Because to be content is a goal that everybody wants. But to be content in everything means we have to have faith in God and the help of God.

Change Your Thinking and Change Your Life!
Yesterday our pastor said that when your car is out of control and sliding on ice, you tend to turn the wheel the opposite direction to straighten it out. In fact, you should turn the wheel in the direction of the skid to correct this. He said when opposition comes in our life, we tend to turn away from it. If we learn to turn toward it, God can straighten it out for us and we learn to be stronger. We need to focus on the promises of God and the future goal.

My friend's announcement
I just got an e-mail from my friend who announced that she was"turning off the TV and was going to read good books, listen to inspirational music, and help anyone and everyone to lead a better, more prosperous and healthier life. She said she was officially announcing that she was not participating in the recession."
I wrote her back and said, me too! I told her we have been watching positive, clean movies from NetFlix. We are tired of the news. It can be so twisted to where we don't know what is true. Even the "good guys" at FOX could get wrong information. My friend is a Shaklee distributor, as I am. I, too, want to help people get their health back, or protect their good health.
"But the Lord watches over those who fear Him, those who rely on His unfailing love. He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine." Psalm 33:18-19
This isn't a fear as we would fear something or someone on this earth. It is a holy fear, knowing that He holds our future and it will be a good future if we obey Him.

Good movie
Yesterday we watched an excellent TV movie. The name of it is "Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story." It's a 2009 movie. If you can catch it, you won't be disappointed!
My pastor's second point yesterday was how people struggle with how God made them. We all have these thoughts; whether we are questioning our physical appearance or our personality or our ability to do things. Also, we question when bad and hurtful things happen to us. We want answers to why things happen. But for some questions we will never find the answers. Some things only God can understand. We all have the gift of free will and some people abuse it. They hurt innocent children and people. This isn't God's fault. If these hurt people can forgive, WHICH IS HARD, BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE, they can move forward and help others and have a very successful life. If you seek God and find Him, He is better than the answer you were looking for.

Heard this at church
If we don't confront our past, we will never go forward. We try to go forward but the force of the unreconciled past pulls us back. We must deal with the regret of the past and then redeem it into ministry to help others.
We all have things that have happened to us that are not letting us go ahead into our future. Tell yourself that not another day will go by that you are regretting the past because you can't change it. Let God guide you into the life that He wants you to have.

Warm Day
It is another warm day after so much cold weather. I will go exercise again! We have a new pastor at our church and tomorrow is a day to look forward to.
I am watching the news and praying that our leaders are doing the right thing to help our economy and to save and create jobs. All the more reason to trust completely in God in these MOST uncertain times. Keep yourself pure and be ready to meet Jesus at any second and your days will be blessed.

Things to do
It is warmer this February morning. I will go to Curves to exercise. I feel so good when I go and know that I am making my bones strong and making my body healthier. I go 3 or 4 times a week and I also have a treadmill at home. I know that the older I get, the more important exercise becomes. I try not to eat any sugar so when ever once in a while, I eat something sweet, it isn't like I have eaten it every day. But once I taste it, I don't want to stop! I am better off never taking the first bite!

Protection
"The Lord is my light and my salvation; He protects me from danger - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalms 27:1-2
If we believe this, then nothing can defeat us. The problem is, all the worldly advice and negative news and negative talk that goes on in this world can get us so out of focus. We need to read God's word daily and think about it throughout the day. Just think what we could accomplish if we weren't afraid of "what people think of us" or afraid of failing. God wants us to prosper and have a healthy, full life.

Authority
Jesus said to His disciples: "If you only have faith in God - this is the absolute truth - you can say to this Mount of Olives, 'Rise up and fall into the Mediterranean,' and your command will be obeyed. All that's required is that you really believe and have no doubt! Listen to me! You can pray anything and if you believe, you have it; it's yours! But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive you your sins, too."
Mark 11:22-25
Here again Jesus speaks of forgiveness as being so important. But when we ask forgiveness, we grow closer to Jesus and have peace.

Ask God For Help
"Ask anything using My name, and I will do it!" John 14:14
It seems as if we can get anything we want! But sometimes the things we want aren't good for us. God is continually protecting us. If we pray in His name and ask things that line up with His promises and things that He wants us to have, He will answer those prayers. God wants us to be prosperous. But sometimes being prosperous doesn't have anything to do with money. Some people who have lots of money are miserable! I believe that God will give extra monetary blessings to those who will share with others.

Prosper
God does not give us prosperity..but He gives us the Power to prosperity .
Deuteronomy 8:18
"Always remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you power to become rich, and He does it to fullfill His promise to your ancestors."
Some characteristics of the Power to Prosper are: Forgiveness
"Be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God has forgiven you because you belong to Christ." -- Ephesians 4:32
I know this to be true. I have had to forgive people in my lifetime that at first I didn't want to forgive. But God helped me truly forgive them. If I don't forgive, I know that it can make me physically ill and make my heart hard.

Start Again
This morning our pastor's main point was the fact that we can have a fresh start in life. He said that nobody can 'start over', but everybody can 'start again'. The promises of our Lord are new every morning. We just need to remember this and go forward with our lives. Sometimes we let the past control us and everything we try to do. Just because something we tried failed last year or even 10 years ago doesn't mean it will fail this year! Begin again and put your faith and trust in God and do it His way.

Gift
"The Lord leads the humble in doing right, teaching them His way. The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep His covenant and obey His demands."
Psalm 25:9-10
I want to obey the Lord and have the best life possible, I know that nothing will turn out good if I don't keep His covenant. A friend called this morning and told me that the gift card I gave her at Christmas came in so handy last night. She had moved and been busy and had forgotten the card. Her little girl needed something for school and the Mom told her the money was gone. The little girl told her that God always had more to give. Sure enough, the Lord reminded her of the gift card and they got the school stuff. I thank God for saving my gift for just the right, very needed, time!

Better Memory
This morning I heard a Dr. on Fox news telling how people who eat 30% less food have a better memory. I will check this out further, but I know it's the truth. When I want to feel my best and have my mind sharper, I eat less. The Dr. was explaining how many of our calories are from sugar and the blood sugar gets off-balance. I try not to eat any sugar. That way, when I have a little every once in a while, it's not so bad.

Snow & Ice
We have been in the house for 2 days due to snow, freezing rain, and sleet. Our roads are slick and there have been many accidents. It is melting a tiny bit this morning. I have had time to work on my website so it has been time well spent. I am going through old photos on floppy disks and transferring them to CDs (still doing this!). It is fun to see photos that I had forgotten. I need to next go through 'paper' photos and get wound up again about organizing them.
But my project for the next 30 days is building new pages on my website. I am getting more and more visitors everyday! It is exciting to watch it grow. I want to give information that will help people. If you check it out, please go to my contact page and let me know what you think and give me hints about what you would like to see. www.get-healthy-enjoy-life.com

Economy
One of the most serious challenges facing 2009 is the economy. Bank and financial failures, credit defaults, bankruptcies, stock market decline, unemployment.
Hebrews 13:5 says "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, . . 'Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you.' "
We are living in uncertain times. As I wrote that sentence, I am reminded that all time on earth is uncertain. When the economy is going good, everybody feels secure. But we have to be reminded that money isn't our security - God is. Money fails us, God never fails us. If we have surrendered our lives to Jesus, our eternity with Him is the security that we should look toward.

Real Peace
Everyone wants peace, prosperity, and security.
True peace is through Jesus Christ. It is within us.
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
John 14:27
True prosperity is through Jesus Christ
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33
"All these things" are things that you need and God gives you and extra blessings He sends. If we concentrate on Him and seek Him, we will receive things we need and more! We don't love Him for 'things'. We love Him because He first loved us.

Saturday
I am off to watch my grandson play basketball. He is 10 and they are all so cute! It is freezing cold this morning. We will have a nice fire in the fireplace tonight.
Monday a Shaklee friend is coming to stay a few days. We will have meetings and learn things and laugh and talk. I thank God for good, trustworthy friends. They are hard to find. You have to use wisdom in the search for them.

God Bless America
Today Pres. Obama has lifted the ban on government payments for abortion. That means that the government will pay for precious women and girls to have abortions and many will live with this regret for the rest of their lives. I am praying that Obama will come to realize that aabortion is not good for women, their families, or America. Obama has also okayed stem cell research, which involves embryos, which are the start of human life, to be used to help people with spinal injuries and other problems. I pray that his eyes will be opened to the truth of God.
"May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer." Psalm 19:14
As I was growing up, our church as a whole would recite this Psalm at the end of every service. I never really thought about what it meant and how powerful it was until a teacher at church brought it to my attention just this week! It is an excellent prayer in which to start the day. We need to speak in a godly way and think on holy things in our heart. If we do that, our days will mean something and be blessed by God.

Early
It is 4 a.m. and I am up reading and working on my website. I have been wide awake since around 1:30 a.m. I think I am sleepy now and will try to go back to bed. Sometimes when this happens I get a lot accomplished. I would rather have a sleepless night ever once in a while because when it happens, it usually means that the Lord is giving me ideas.
Yesterday started a 40 day challenge that my 3 daughters and I are doing. We each picked something that we need to get accomplished. My goal is to add pages to my website. This is important to me because I feel God lead me to make a website that will help and encourage people.
"Getting wisdom is the wisest thing you can do! And whatever else you do, develop good judgment. My child, listen to Me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life."
Proverbs 4:7 and 10

Pray
Today we get a new president. As Obama is sworn into office, I will be praying for him to serve our country well. I didn't vote for him, and don't agree with his policies, but as a Christian I must pray that his guidance comes from the Lord God Almighty. It is no surprise to God when an official gets elected. God allows everything to happen to fulfil His big plan and purpose.

Monday Morning
Some people dread Monday morning as it means they must get back to work. I look forward to Mondays to get the week started and see what I can accomplish. My daughter's birthday is Sunday and I always reflect on when she was born, remember her growing up, and marvel at how the years passed quickly. She is grown, married, with children now and I am very proud of the women she is. God has blessed me with 3 daughters who are my best friends. We share our hopes and dreams with one another and I am grateful for our good relationships. Well, on to my Monday morning tasks.

Faithful Love
"'For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,' says the Lord, who has mercy on you."
Isaiah 54:10
In these uncertain times, this promise is comforting. I have to meditate on this quite often to realize the love God has for me and for His children. Our Sunday School teacher quoted this scripture this morning. He is reminding us that our hope is not in the economy or the news media which tells us anything they want us to hear. Our trust and hope is in God and eternity.

Common Sense
"My child, don't lose sight of common sense and discernment. Hang on to them, for they will refresh your soul. They are like jewels on a necklace. They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble. You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly. You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap."
Proverbs 3:21-26
What assurance and comfort these words are! The Proverbs are full of common sense messages. And we can pray that we receive discernment. In these days that we are seeing "sudden disaster" all around, we can be assured that our Lord is protecting us if we are repenting of our sins and looking to Him for guidance.
If you aren't assured that you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior, here is a prayer you can pray:
"Jesus, I want to know that I am Your child and I will spend eternity with You in heaven. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and I give You my life. I am sorry for my sins and turn away from them now. I accept You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Now, if you have prayed that sincerely from your heart, you have been born again into the kingdom of heaven! Read the christian Bible daily to learn what you should do and pray about what your purpose is on this earth.

The Earth
"By wisdom the Lord founded the earth; by understanding He created the heavens. By His knowledge the deep foundations of the earth burst forth, and the dew settles beneath the night sky."
Proverbs 3:19-20
The Bible says that we can have understanding and knowledge if we ask God for it. We can never understand everything but God can give us answers to problems we have and He can give us creative ideas. All we have to do is desire these things and ask Him with reverence.

Sparrows
"What is the price of two sparrows - one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows."
Matt. 10:29-31
When I remember that God knows how many hairs I have on my head; and that number changes daily; (maybe more times a day!), then I know that He is guiding my life if I will just listen to His guidance and worship Him. Meditate on this scripture today.

Joyful
"Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and her wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her." -- Proverbs 3:13-15
If you have wisdom, you can accomplish many tasks and do great things. It is truly more valuable than silver or gold, which may disappear at any moment. Reading God's word will make you wise!

Wisdom
"My child, don't reject the Lord's discipline, and don't be upset when He corrects you. For the Lord corrects those He loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom He delights."
Proverbs 3:11-12
I think we should rejoice when the Lord corrects us, knowing that He loves us in doing so. We know as parents that it is out of love that we correct our children. I am learning to be aware of the Lord gently guiding me away from movies I shouldn't see and correcting me when I have thoughts I shouldn't toward others. I don't want to judge anyone. But sometimes I judge so quickly, even if it's somebody's hairstyle! And I sure don't have perfect hair! I want to accept people and if they need guidance in some area and ask for it, I will help them, myself being guided by the wisdom of the Lord.

Memories
I've been looking at old photos of my grandkids. The photos aren't THAT old because the oldest grandkid is 10. But to see the changes as they have grown is amazing! These photos I'm working with were on floppy disks and I know that they are obsolete or will be soon. There will be no computer that will have a "floppy slot", so I copied the photos to my computer, then burned them to CDs. I feel as if I've REALLY accomplished something. Then I have posted some of the photos on my daughters' facebook pages and they are excited to see them.
Today I'm still re-organizing since I scattered things for Christmas decorating! I've got to get to Curves, too!
God bless you and your day.

Healing for your body
"Don't be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have HEALING FOR YOUR BODY AND STRENGTH FOR YOUR BONES"
Proverbs 3:7-8
This is excellent advise to go along with eating healthy foods and getting exercise. I have to obey the Word of God everyday for everything in my life to go smoothly. Turning away from evil will make my body healthy and my bones strong. I believe these words with all my heart. The spiritual part of my life is more real than the physical. In heaven we will finally see what is real and lasting and forever. I am thinking on heaven, rather than these earthly things which can be so illusional.

Thought for the Day
This is where my true joy comes from:
"I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.
I will be filled with JOY because of you.
I will sing praises to Your name, O Most High."
Psalm 9:1-2
I am learning that true joy doesn't come from a little excitement here and there. It doesn't come from planning a trip or getting a present. These things are nice but they soon end. Think on things that are eternal. This will help you through disappointing times and make every day something to look forward to.

More Book
Another thought from my book:
God always hears the cry of the oppressed.
God cares about human suffering and the conditions that cause it.
God is searching for a body, a community of people to care for the things God cares about.
God gives power and blessing so that justice and righteousness will be upheld for those who are denied them.
To forget this, to fail to hear the cry, to preserve prosperity at the expense of the powerless, is to miss what God has in mind.
There's a word for this. A word for what happens when you still have the power and the wealth and the influence, and yet in some profound way you've blown it because you've forgotten why you were given it in the first place.
The word is exile.
Exile is when you forget your story.
Exile isn't just about location; exile is about the state of your soul.
Exile is when you fail to convert your blessings into blessings for others.
Exile is when you find yourself a stranger to the purposes of God.

My New Book
I have started reading the book that my daughter gave me - "Jesus Wants to Save Christians"
Here is a quote from it: "When we're on top, when the system works for us, when we are capable of managing our lives, what is there for God to do?"
We have a new pastor in our church and he said the same thing yesterday in his message.
I want God to have part in everything in my life that I do; because I truly can't do anything without Him. In fact, I don't want to be able to do anything without Him. Without His guidance and approval, all plans will fail.

Christmas Holidays Over.
Our family was here for 2 weeks and we had a great time! Now we are getting back into our routine. We have re-arranged some furniture, put away decorations, and I am still washing clothes and linens. My daughter gave me the New Testament on CD and I am listening to it in the car. She also gave me a book called "Jesus Wants To Save Christians". I will let you know what it's about as I read it.
