Still in Texas

We are going home tomorrow. We have had a nice visit with family. My daughter-in-law is in college so she has studied many hours while we have been here. I took a family photo of my daughter and her family to go on a Christmas card. I have my laptop so I am able to work on my website. We have to decorate the house when we get home. Fun times are family times.

"In the end, people appreciate honest criticism far more than flattery."

Thanksgiving Day

My daughter sent a sweet e-mail today. She said she is thankful for me and her 2 sisters. One part of her message was about how we love her no matter what. I pray that I always will love my family like that and also love others as Jesus did. We are all in different places today for different reasons but that doesn't ruin the day. Every day should be a day of giving thanks to God for all He has done for us.

"I will keep on obeying Your instructions forever and ever.
I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments."
Psalms 119:44-45

Learn to walk in freedom everyday.

Leaving for Texas

We're going to Texas for Thanksgiving and I am packing. The most important things to pack are my laptop and materials for building my website. If you are thinking about building a website, Site Build It! is the best way to go. They show you how to do EVERYTHING! Check out my site to find out more information. Look at the bottom of any of my pages. www.gethealthyenjoylife.com

We will see family and have a good time. I'll get to be at my grandsons' house when they put up their Christmas tree. They will be at my house for Christmas.

"Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found."
Psalms 119:35

Thanksgiving Is Coming Soon!

Hard to believe that the holidays are fast approaching! We haven't decorated for Christmas yet. The most time consuming task is putting out all the villages. Joe takes care of that. We have 2 lighted trees in our living area that stay year round cause I love trees. At Christmas, I just put on poinsettas and flip a switch and we have instant Christmas trees!
This morning I read in my Bible:

"Teach me Your decrees, O Lord; I will keep them to the end. Give me understanding and I will obey your instructions; I will put them into practice with all my heart." Psalms 119: 33-34

This is what I want my prayer to be. I want to know what pleases God and I want to please Him with all my heart.

I am thankful every day.

Great Weekend!

Just as I thought, we had a great week-end! We laughed and ate and talked about their kids, made Christmas plans. It doesn't sound like big excitement but we went to Target 3 times. Chantel bought one of those wooden houses that have 25 "little" doors just big enough inside to hold 3 little pieces of candy. Every day her 3 kids will open the next door until it's Christmas. Christina bought some soft, snuggly pajamas and surprises to take home to her boys. Amy bought her daughter a dress for a piano recital. I bought some dish towels. Memories were made!

Laughter

My daughter from out of town is coming today. She will surprise my middle daughter for her birthday. Me, my third daughter, and these two (3 girls and me!) will spend Sat. night in a nice hotel and laugh about silly things that only we think are funny, and laugh at ourselves. Her husband arranged this surprise and he is so excited. This is my wish for you today that you would laugh with someone close to you, and laugh at yourself. If you've never laughed at yourself, learn to. It will make you so free!

More computer work!

Yesterday I completed the downloading of McAfee to the desktop. Now both computers are protected once again. Lots of upkeep on these things, but I enjoy tinkering around with them.

The pastor spoke this morning on people knowing who we are. He said that so many people think they are someone else because people have "labeled" them wrongly. The more you hear people calling you things like "stupid", or other names, the more you think you are those things. Sometimes people make mistakes in life, but then they correct the mistakes. They are off to a new life so others should realize this and not keep condemning them. God has the most important view of who we are and we should listen to Him. Of course, first we have to have dedicated our life to Him so we are assured that we are His child. Don't condemn yourself. Ask God who you are.

Computer Trouble!

For 2 days we have been trying to get our computers straighten out! My laptop was going SO SLOW, it took 15 minutes to boot up. The sweet girl at HP support was so kind and patient. It took hours, she had to call me back several times. I had to back up everything so she could "wipe out everything". I think I saved everything, but forgot about my favorite websites. I am still trying to remember them and find them all. Then Joe's computer went crazy. He was having trouble with e-mail and slowness. We called Cox and they came out and found that our cables were wet. So now things are ok. Can't hardly do without these computers! But yet, I know we could if we had to. We never know what is in our future, but with Jesus we know we are taken care of.
Paul tells us in Hebrews 2:1 ~~ "So we must listen very carefully to the truths we have heard, or we may drift away from them." He is referring to the truth that Jesus taught, which is the Only Way to Heaven. If we watch the news and t.v "talk" we hear so many different things. We must compare all we hear with the Bible. Oh, I just noticed the date....I won't be "celebrating" halloween.

I've been busy!

I have to get back to my blog! I have been building a website with SiteBuildIt! It is fascinating! They show me everything to do to make sure the search engines will find me. My site is about health and how Shaklee products can help you feel good and enjoy life. I still have many pages to write but I'm learning so much as I research. I've gotten on facebook and it is a great way to keep up with friends and family. I laugh so hard at the photos they post and things they say!

This is what Paul was writing to Timothy and it applies today and forever:

"Tell those who are rich not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which will soon be gone, but their pride and trust should be in the living God who always richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need, always being ready to share with others, whatever God has given them. By doing this, they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven - it is the only safe investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well." ~~~~ 1 Timothy 6:17-19

This isn't a negative verse. It is true that we never know when we could lose our money. God wants us to rely on Him for everything. He will take care of us and provide good jobs and finances. Also, "we can't take it with us", as they say! Our good works are stored in heaven for our future. And it gives one pleasure to give to others and serve others. This verse is the path to true enjoyment of life, here and in eternity.

It's June already!

June is flying by. Today is my grandson's birthday. He is 7. Tomorrow is another grandson's birthday and he will be 6.

Joe's college age granddaughter Valerie was here last week and we cooked and played cards.(And cooked and played cards!) Cousins live next door and they all had fun catching up and playing games. Valerie sings beautifully and impressed my 9 year old granddaughter A LOT! Valerie's sister Veronica stopped by going to Iowa for a missions summer.

In less than 3 weeks a family we know from Russia is coming for a few days. We are excited getting ready for them. I have to clean the house and straighten up guest bedrooms. Then I have to watch myself that I don't tear it all up again before they get here. We will have a cook out and a big bonfire in the back yard.

I can do anything

I am learning to think big. I have always just been satisfied with what I had because I am easily satisfied. But God is stirring me to think big and accomplish some things in my lifetime. I know this is from God because it is a new thought process for me that I am enjoying. I want people to know Jesus and live a fullfilling life. I want people to know how to think big and make money so they can be a success.
- Ephesians 3:20 says,"Now glory be to God who by His mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of--infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes."
I have read this verse many times through the years but it has a real meaning to me at this time in my life. I am going to concentrate on this verse and take God at His word because I am ready to see things happen in my life that I never dared dream!

Dreams and Goals

My pastor was encouraging us to make a list of things we want to do before we die. No, this wasn't a negative message! It was encouragment to find something that interests us and write down our goals and dreams and protect them from people who want to DIScourage us. Doing this will lead to adventure, achievement, contribution, greatness, dreams, and significance. Survey says that 42% of people are not satisfied with their life. Also, 35% believe that the next 5 years will be no better. Zech. 4:10 says "Do not despise small beginnings, for the eyes of the Lord rejoice to see the work begin." It is difficult to start something. You feel you have to commit to something and you are unsure if you can follow through. Just take one day at a time!

Busy Week

This week Joe and I both had a colonoscopy. My Dr. had told me for 3 years to get one and I just "put it off". Finally I realized the importance of the test so I made the appointment. Joe also made an appointment. His was Thursday and mine Friday. We had different doctors. His doctor told him to drink a GIANT container of the salty stuff. My doctor told me to drink 2 little bottles; 3 ounces in all! And lots of water. This is to clean out your colon so they can run in a little tube and look for problems. It is nothing to be feared because I was asleep and the procedure was painless and I was just sleepy afterward. We both got good reports. Joe didn't have any polyps. I had one that the doctor removed and said it wasn't cancer. If anybody is putting this off, please go have it done. These polyps are usually harmless when removed while they are small. I feel good to know that I'm taking care of my body and getting as healthy as I can.

Finished the sock monkey

I worked so hard on him! I knew after I started that I couldn't to any other task until I finished. But he is so cute! Go to the blog Sock Monkey to see the results!
We have photos taken today for our church pictorial directory. I knew I had to have my wonderful hairdresser wash and style my hair or I would have a bad hair day on the wrong day. I am excited to see Krissi and see my hair lookin' good!

Cleaning Day

I have to clean house today with, none other than, Shaklee cleaners. I don't mind cleaning with my non-toxic, safe cleaners that work as good and better than anything else. I also want to sew a sock monkey for my granddaughter. Then I want to work some more on my blog. I am still learning about all the things one can do with this blog!!!

Still learning

I am playing with the blog and learning how to do everything. I hope I don't lose it! Hopefully I will find it again!

Get Healthy, Enjoy Life!

This is for anyone who wants to enjoy their life to the fullest. To do this, the first step is to be healthy. When you don't feel well, you can't think about anything but how you are going to feel better! When your body hurts you can't do the simple things that you take for granted. I want to help people get healthy, feel better, and enjoy life. The way I started to feel better, actually to feel GREAT, was to take Shaklee supplements. It seems a simple thing but did the change to Shaklee ever work! I feel 30 years younger. I have energy and want to do things (like write this blog...3 years ago you couldn't have made me write a blog or even explain to me what one was!) Now I am happy and healthy and living life to the fullest.
